Full Circle - Renew Compostable Waste Bags - 25 Bags
Full Circle - Renew Compostable Waste Bags - 25 Bags
Full Circle Renew Compostable Waste Bags are designed to degrade like the food they contain. While Full Circle's bags are built tough, the degradation process begins when they come into contact with organic materials such as food wasted, continuing to break down with time.
Full Circle Renew Compostable Waste Bags
Now You See It, Now You Don't
Collect your food scraps and organic waste in your compost collector and organic waste in your compost collector using these handy bags. Strong enough not to tear, but natural enough to break down in a proper composting environment. Using bags keeps your compost pail clean and frees up time for doing better things - like tending to your new organic garden!
When used with the Fresh Air Kitchen Compost Collector the Compostable Bags can "breathe." This allows heat and moisture to escape, which reduces bacteria build-up and off-gassing, thus reducing odor.
Bags are certified to met ASTM D6400 standards. This means they will break down in an industrial composting facility. Please dispose of bags properly. Bags may take more time to degrade in a home composting environment.
What's So Good About Composting?
At Full Circle, they think it's important to practice what you preach. That's why they don't just sell eco-friendly products; they dedicate their passion and knowledge to helping make it more feasible for you to live a greener lifestyle each and every day. Full Circle Home Composting solutions are their most recent initiative. The Fresh Air and Scrap Happy compost collectors make composting feasible to anyone and everyone. No more worrying about odor and flies, and having a yard is no longer a requirement. Has Full Circle convinced you to give it a try yet? Here's some facts and information to help enlighten you about the benefits of composting, and the potential impact you can have on your community and the earth by participating.
Odor & Fly –Free Composting- How it works:
Full Circle Composting solutions are designed to be used in any and all living spaces by their unique, compact shapes and odor & fly free designs. The Fresh Air uses a unique airway system that allows for aerobic decomposition unlike sealed compost containers. It permits oxygen to easily flow through organic kitchen waste by wind flumes surrounding its perimeter. This means that food decomposes more slowly and stays drier during the composting process. No filters or worms are required. The Scrap Happy scrap collector uses a completely different technology to keep scraps odor and fly free- the freezer! The benefit of storing compost in the freezer is two-fold, it prevents rotting and smell and it serves as a great storage facility until scraps are ready to be taken outside or dropped at a compost facility. This is a great option for people with limited space or without a yard.
Composting Frequently Asked Questions
What if I don't have a yard?
Maybe you live in a city apartment or in a home without a hard. Our cities are getting more progressive every day, and it's more than likely yours has a community composting center. To find a composting center near you, check out www.Earth911.com, or the EPA for local resources in your area.
What regulations exist for organic materials and compost facilities?
Organic material management is regulated (i.e., siting, permitting, and management) at the state level, except for biosolids and animal manures. States have assumed the lead role in regulating composting facilities. Composting facilities may need approval from the state before operating. The permit requirements for composting facilities vary among states. Examples of topics covered in the permitting process include: a detailed facility design, operating plans, a description of incoming materials, the amount and types of residue to be generated in the plant, monitoring plans, potential environmental releases, landfills to be used, and potential markets for the compost.
Why Not Put Yard Wastes in Landfills?
Since these materials are relatively clean and biodegradable, disposal in landfills may be unnecessary and wastes space. In addition, as yard wastes decompose in landfills, they generate methane gas and acidic leachate. Methane is a colorless, explosive greenhouse gas that is released as bacteria decompose organic materials in landfills. If methane is not controlled at a landfill, it can seep underground and into nearby buildings, where it has the potential to explode. Yard wastes also contribute acidity that can make other waste constituents more mobile and therefore more toxic.
Why Not Burn Leaves and Other Yard Wastes?
Burning leaves and other yard wastes pollutes the air and can lead to uncontrolled fires. Leaf smoke can make breathing difficult for people who suffer from asthma, emphysema, chronic bronchitis, or allergies. A number of states currently ban leaf burning, and some communities either ban leaf burning or restrict when and where it can take place. For more information, visit EPA's Backyard Burning site.
About Full Circle
A life cycle. Every product in our homes has one—from a scrub brush to a sponge. They're designed and manufactured, serve out their purpose, get old and are thrown away. In the US alone, if one scrub brush per household gets thrown out every year, that's about 120 million brushes ending up in the garbage.
Yes, you read that correctly—120 million.
And most of them are plastic (petroleum-based plastic) which means it takes about 1000 years before they start to break down.
Yes, you also read that correctly—1000 years.
But what if there was a scrub brush made from sustainable, biodegradable materials? One that would eventually break back down into those same biodegradable materials? And what if it was made in a factory with great working conditions and higher environmental standards? And what if it was ergonomic, worked great, and looked terrific in your home?
Well, that's pretty much the thinking behind Full Circle.
You will notice on Full Circle's packaging that they say "Sustainable. Made in China." Many might think these two things are mutually exclusive, but that is up to the manufacturer. They look at the environmental and social practices of their factories to ensure they are up to standards. And more importantly, Full Circle is on the ground making sure factories keep up those standards. Want some examples? They thought you'd never ask...
Full Circle looks forward to expanding their initiatives and welcomes comments or suggestions. That's just the kind of company they set out to be.
Try using renew compostable bags in a Fresh Air Odor-Free Kitchen Compost Collector. When disposing of a full bag, be sure to support the base to ensure the bag does not rip. Bag degradation will vary in relation to room temperature. During normal usage, you should replace your bags every 3-5 days.
It’s a simple reality: our product choices are limited to what we can find on store shelves. And more often than not, products that are the most accessible aren’t always the most eco-friendly. Or good looking. That’s just the way it’s been for ages.
But the game has changed—with Full Circle’s line of stylish, functional products made from sustainable and renewable resources. Like scrub brushes with sleek, bamboo handles and sponges made from cellulose, a plant-based fiber. We’ve even made pot scrubbers that fully biodegrade! (As you can see, we’re really into this stuff.)
Important behind-the-scenes changes are happening here, too—such as improved working conditions, cleaner manufacturing methods and higher environmental standards. Even our suppliers have come around to our way of thinking. (We’re kind of persuasive that way.)
At Full Circle, we believe in constantly striving to do things better. Because while there may be a finite number of resources in the world, there’s an infinite number of ways to use them more wisely.
And figuring out how to do that is what gets us up every morning.
